Herbs are an integral part of the vegetable garden.  They can also be the focal point of a design, because of the natural fragrance and profuse blooms they produce, which are attractive both to the eye and to precious pollinators.  Perennial herbs such as mint, alliums, tarragon, sages and lavenders are staples of an herb garden.  Annuals such as cilantro, basil, and edible flower varieties are essential flavors in the summer kitchen.
